KnytX Shield vs DeleteMe, feature by feature
Every row below is either a published price/policy or a third-party-reported figure — see sources at the bottom of this section. Checked 2026-07-12.
| Feature | KnytX Shield | DeleteMe |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price (paid entry tier) DeleteMe pricing per its published plans page, checked 2026-07. DeleteMe bills annually; there’s no month-to-month option. | $8.99/mo (Basic) | ~$10.75/mo on the 1-year plan ($129/yr) |
| Free tier | Yes — scan + 3 real removals/year + DELETE Act filing assist | No paid-product free tier (DeleteMe separately owns the free Permission Slip app) |
| Removal proof / evidence Neither company currently publishes before/after removal screenshots the way Optery does — flagged here rather than overclaimed. | Planned: removal-status and re-listing detail per broker in your dashboard | No public removal-proof artifacts reported |
| Reporting cadence | Continuous monitoring once you’re in; a re-listing triggers an automatic re-file | Quarterly privacy reports |
| What happens to filed requests if you cancel Your CCPA/DELETE Act/GDPR removal requests remain binding on the broker after cancellation — you lose ongoing monitoring, not the filings already submitted. See our pricing FAQ, “What happens to my data if I cancel?” | Filed requests stay legally binding after you cancel | Check DeleteMe’s own terms before cancelling; not independently verified here |
| Data broker coverage claimed vs automated See “What 850 brokers and 190+ brokers actually mean” below. The two figures aren’t measuring the same thing, so don’t read them as higher-is-better. | 190+ brokers, all counted as automated-removal coverage | ~850 claimed; independent reviews report only a fraction get fully automated removal, the rest slower or manual |

Who each one is actually for
Choose DeleteMe if
- You want the lowest possible list price today and don’t need continuous re-listing monitoring.
- You specifically want a company with a decade-plus track record in this category.
- You’re already a Permission Slip user and want to stay inside the same company’s product family.
Choose KnytX Shield if
- You want ongoing monitoring and automatic re-filing when a broker re-lists you, not a quarterly snapshot.
- You want your removal requests to keep standing under privacy law even if you cancel your subscription.
- You want a free tier that includes 3 real removals and DELETE Act filing help, not scan-only.
Switching from DeleteMe? Here's what that actually takes.
- 1 Keep your DeleteMe removal historyBefore you cancel, export or screenshot DeleteMe’s report of what’s already been removed — that’s a record of work already done, and you’ll want it for your own reference regardless of which service you use next.
- 2 Your existing opt-outs don't need to be re-filedRemoval requests submitted under CCPA/GDPR/DPDPA are binding on the broker independent of which company filed them or whether your subscription is still active — cancelling DeleteMe does not undo a removal that already went through.
- 3 Run a KnytX scan to see current exposureStart with the example report to see what Shield checks for, then run your own scan once you’re in — that becomes your new baseline for monitoring going forward.

DeleteMe has removed people from broker sites since 2010. That track record is real, and its list price is genuinely lower than ours. Where DeleteMe is better today, we say so below.
What “850 brokers” and “190+ brokers” actually mean
Removal services advertise a broker count. The number that matters is how many get automated removal versus a manual or best-effort pass. DeleteMe’s marketing cites about 850 broker and people-search sites. Independent reviews report that only a fraction of that list gets fully automated removal; the rest are handled more slowly, or by hand. Shield’s 190+ figure is the automated-coverage number itself. So the two numbers aren’t measuring the same thing. Don’t read them as higher-is-better.
